This timeless classic is often considered one of the greatest movies of all time, and I can certainly see why. Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman star in the Academy award winning masterpiece Casablanca.

It is the beginning of World War 2, and Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) is the owner of one of the best nightspots in town, as level headed as he appears we soon see the damage love can do when his old flame and one true love Ilsa Lund (Ingrid Bergman) walks into his club with the European resistance leader “Victor Laszlo” by her side. The tension between Rick and Ilsa could be cut with a knife, however we soon find out the reasons for her departure from the relationship. In what is a gripping finale this is certainly one to watch.

I can certainly see what has made Casablanca such a classic in cinematic history. Although I love it, I could also see why it would frustrate others with it’s age and style. However I think it’s safe to say that it will remain a “powerhouse” for years to come.
