The Spy Who Loved Me

Day 10 of our “20 days of 007” marks the halfway point in the Bond series. Roger Moore stars in his best Bond film in The Spy Who Loved Me, a great action fuelled, high octane thriller. This Bond film is very fast paced and is Roger Moore’s attempt at recreating Golfinger, and although I wouldn’t quite class it in the same league as Goldfinger it isn’t far off the mark.

When a massive underwater craft abducts U.S. and Russian submarines, global tensions are heightened to the brink of war. James Bond is assigned to find the culprit and joins forces with Russian Major Anya Amasova (Barbara Bach) to eliminate the danger. This film also features the legendary Jaws (Richard Kiel) in his first Bond film and the equally legendary Lotus Espirit and it’s great ability to transform into a submarine.

I happen to think The Spy Who Loved Me is a great Bond film and definitely Roger Moore’s best outing as 007. The car, the girls, the gadgets, the villain & the Bond. This film is great!
