Imagining the second World War coming to an end with the fascist Nazi regime as the victor is both a terrifying scenario to consider and a fascinating thought experiment all at once, and it is one that the developers of the recent Wolfenstein titles have taken and run with to quite glorious degree. The era is the 60s, and the world is trembling at the jackbooted feet of the Nazi empire that have so thoroughly conquered it- their victory assured after detonating a Nuclear Bomb in New York City in the closing days of the war. However, not everybody is ready to lay down and die in the face of tyranny; one such man is B.J. Blazkowicz, an American soldier and all around no-guff-taker who has more then done his part battling the fascists at every turn. He has unfortunately suffered greatly in the fight many times over, but each one only solves to strengthen his resolve to see out his / his cohorts’ one wish; to liberate the United States from Nazi control, and turn it into the leading force against the regime (to hopefully crush it completely).
Fast paced first person shooter action meets biting political satire that is sadly all-too relevant i the current political climate, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is one of the finest games released in 2017- and an absolute must-buy!
